IT Support Assistant

Job Function

The position will report to the IT Director and will be responsible for delivering fast IT services to the OGCI staff. The successful candidate will also be accountable for the IT inventory management, deploying new IT hardware and creating new user accounts.

There is also the opportunity for the candidate to develop a deeper understanding of Cloud Technology, and to gain insight into the Technologies and solutions that may support climate change in the energy industry.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • System and Network Diagnostics.
  • Front Line Desktop Support.
  • Building and configuring new devices.
  • Review and test new technology.

Main Responsibility and Accountabilities

  • Troubleshooting of system and basic network problems, including diagnosing and resolving faults.
  • Knowledge of Installation and configuration of computer hardware and applications.
  • To configure all Mobile devices.
  • The ability to build and configure new devices.
  • To provide front line support to staff to resolve IT issues, either face to face or remotely.
  • To create documentation for new IT processes.
  • To set up office workstation installations of IT equipment.
  • To be able to apply basic networking knowledge in live situations.
  • To review and test new IT technology.

Education and Professional Qualifications
  • HND/HNC in Computer Studies or equivalent.
  • Microsoft Certifications or training.
  • Proficient in Windows 10.
  • Cloud Computing solutions.
  • Microsoft Azure administration knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities.

Experience and Technical Competencies

  • Previous experience with desktop builds and configuration.
  • Experience of basic networking and cabling.
  • Experience of working within a virtual IT Team.

Additional Information

  • The position is based in London.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is mandatory.
  • Diverse locations of OGCI CI may result in out of hours meetings/calls, as required.
