HR Manager (US)

Job Function

The job holder will be responsible for the management of the defined aspects of HR for OGCI CI staff based in the US with a particular focus on general people management, including learning and career development and also providing support in talent acquisition and onboarding. A high level of collaboration with members of the Leadership Team and staff will form an integral part of the role. It will be imperative to establish and maintain excellent employee relations and a positive working environment aligned with the Company’s mission and culture. It will also be necessary to manage the HR annual cycle in accordance with the procedures in place and to adapt such procedures to reflect best practice in the US. The optimisation of staff performance to achieve the highest standards, aligned with Company goals and individual objectives will be of paramount importance.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • To provide advice and support on HR related matters to members of the Leadership Team and to staff.
  • To manage the Learning and Career Development process for staff.
  • To develop and co-ordinate all aspects of staff onboarding.
  • To co-ordinate the Performance Management process and provide advice and support to members of the Leadership Team undertaking evaluations.
  • To develop and manage any Performance Improvement Plans, as required.
  • To co-ordinate all staff training initiatives within the defined budget.
  • To develop and implement staff initiatives to support the organisational culture and effective employee relations.
  • To consider and propose approaches to enhance internal communication and engagement.
  • To manage aspects of occupational health and staff wellbeing, including the development and introduction of relevant initiatives.
  • To formulate HR procedures which reflect best practice in the US and comply with US employment law.
  • To manage the US payroll and all related tax and social security compliance.
  • To manage the State registration process for any new State presence within the organisation.
  • To administer all US employee benefit plans.
  • To maintain all necessary HR documentation and to ensure that the HR database is updated to reflect the status of US based employees.

Education and Professional Qualifications
  • Degree Qualified. Professional HR Qualification.
  • A working knowledge of US employment law would be advantageous.

Experience and Technical Competencies

  • An HR professional with extensive generalist experience.
  • Experience in the energy, technology, private equity or venture capital sectors would be advantageous.

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.
  • Pragmatic problem solver who can operationalise and implement effective solutions within the required legal framework.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy, specifically in relation to and payroll and compliance matters.
  • Very flexible approach to work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicting priorities effectively.

Additional Information

  • The position is based in Houston, US.
  • Eligibility to work in the US is essential.
  • Travel both within the US and internationally may be required from time to time.
  • Diverse locations of OGCI CI may result in out of hours meetings/calls, as required.
